FR_L'Atelier Flagey, créé en 2004 réunit actuellement Joanne VAN BOSTERHAUT luthière et Victor BERNARD archetier, qui partagent une même éthique de travail et un projet commun.
Nous proposons une large gamme d'instruments et archets contemporains et anciens, pour des musiciens de tous niveaux (débutants, étudiants, professionnels...).
Nous offrons les services suivants : fabrication d'instruments et d'archets du quatuor, restaurations, réparations, maintenances, réglages, mèches & expertises. Nous faisons le maximum pour offrir le service le plus approprié à chacun de nos clients.
En 2014, l'Atelier Flagey a créé Ekho, une association qui a pour but de promouvoir la lutherie et l'archèterie contemporaine à travers des expositions, des concerts, des conférences et masterclasses.

Luthière / Violin maker
FR_ Joanne Van Bosterhaut a commencé son apprentissage musical dès son plus jeune âge en jouant du violoncelle. En 2005, alors qu'elle étudie la musicologie à l'Université Libre de Bruxelles, elle entame une formation de luthier en Belgique.
En 2013, elle intègre l'Atelier Flagey à Bruxelles, un espace de travail partagé entre luthiers et archetiers. Depuis 2019, elle en est la luthière principale et partage l'atelier avec l'archetier Victor Bernard.
Elle est membre fondateur d'EKHO, créée en 2014, une association dédiée à la promotion de la facture instrumentale contemporaine. La relation entre luthier et musicien est fondamentale dans l'évolution de ses recherches sur la sonorité et dans le développement du confort de jeu de ses instruments.
Joanne Van Bosterhaut a poursuivi sa formation auprès de luthiers renommés tels qu'Isabelle Wilbaux (Montréal), Philippe Van Geffel (Bruxelles) et Francis Kuttner (Crémone). Elle participe également à des expositions internationales de lutherie (Bruxelles, Vienne, Tokyo...).
En 2016, la Fondation Roi Baudoin lui a attribué une bourse dans le cadre de la « Plateforme pour l'éducation et le talent ».
Elle est membre de BVBM (Belgian violin and bow makers), ALADFI (association des luthiers et archetiers pour le développement de la facture instrumentale) et de l'UAP (Union des artisans du patrimoine).
EN_Joanne Van Bosterhaut began her musical apprenticeship at a young age through playing the cello. In 2005, while studying Musicology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, she started training as a violin maker in Belgium.
In 2013, she joined the Atelier Flagey in Brussels, a work space shared between luthiers and bow makers. Since 2019, she is the principal violin maker and shares the whorkshop with bow maker Victor Bernard.
She is a founding member of EKHO, created in 2014, an association dedicated to the promotion of contemporary instrument making. The relationship between luthier and musician is fundamental in the evolution of her research on sonority and in the development of the payer-comfort of her instruments.
Joanne Van Bosterhaut furthered her training with well known violin makers such as Isabelle Wilbaux (Montreal), Philippe Van Geffel (Brussels), Lorenzo Frignani (Modena), Tanguy Fraval (Britain) and Francis Kuttner (Cremona). She also takes part in international violin making exhibition (Brussels, Vienna, Tokyo...).
In 2016, Fondation Roi Baudoin awarded her a scholarship in the framework of the “Platform for Education and Talent”.
She is members of ALADFI (association des luthiers et archetiers pour le développement de la facture instrumentale) and UAP ( Union des artisans du patrimoine).

Victor BERNARD
Archetier / Bow maker
FR_ Victor BERNARD est né en 1985 près de Paris.
Il étudie à l'International School of Violin Making de Newark, en Angleterre, dont il sort diplômé en 2008. Passionné par l'archèterie, il rejoint la Maison Bernard à Bruxelles où il travaille aux côtés de Pierre Guillaume qui lui transmet sa passion pour les archets anciens et lui enseigne la restauration.
Il poursuit son apprentissage auprès d'archetiers de renons tels que Emmanuel Carlier, Georges Tepho, Eric Granchamp et Yannick Le Canu
En 2014, Victor a rejoint l'atelier Flagey à Bruxelles, où il travaille aux côtés de la luthière Joanne Van Bosterhaut.
Victor est membre organisateur d'Ekho en Belgique et de Klanggestalten en Allemagne, associations créées pour la promotion de la lutherie et de l'archèterie contemporaines à travers des expositions, des concerts, des masterclasses.
La Fondation Marcel Vatelot lui accorde une bourse en 2014 pour l'aider à développer son atelier et à se préparer aux concours internationaux d'archèterie.
En 2024, il obtient le statut de Hors Concours à la Violin Society of America International Compétition.
Il participe régulièrement à des expositions internationales d'archèterie en Belgique, France, Allemagne, Italie, Angleterre, Irlande, Etats-Unis et Japon.

EN_ Victor BERNARD was born in 1985 near Paris, France.
He studied at the International School of Violinmaking in Newark, England, graduating in 2008. Fascinated by bow making, he joined the Maison Bernard in Brussels, where he worked alongside Pierre Guillaume, who passed on his passion for old bows and taught him how to restore them. He continued his apprenticeship with renowned bow makers such as Emmanuel Carlier, Georges Tepho, Eric Granchamp and Yannick Le Canu.
In 2014, Victor joined the Flagey workshop in Brussels, where he works alongside luthier Joanne Van Bosterhaut.
Victor is an organiser member of Ekho in Belgium and Klanggestalten in Germany, associations created for the promotion of contemporary violin and bow making through exhibitions, concerts, mastrecalsses.
The Marcel Vatelot Foundation awarded him a grant in 2014 to help him develop his workshop and prepare for international bow-making competitions.
In 2024, he was awarded Hors Concours status at the Violin Society of America International Competition.
He regularly takes part in international bow-making exhibitions in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, England, Ireland, United States and Japan.
